Lessons from Wreckage of Relationships

  1. Don't allow past wrecks to damage future friendships.
    1. Ecclesiastes 4:10 - If one person falls, the other can reach out and help.  But people who are alone when the fall are in real trouble.
    2. Proverbs 27:9 - Friendships are necessary for a healthy life.

  1. Commit to the hard work of relationships.
    1. Ephesians 4: 1-2 - Therefore I … beg you to lead a life worthy of your calling, for you have been called by God.  Be humble and gentle.  Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other's faults because of your love.

  1. Value others more than yourself.
    1. Philippians 2: 3-4 - Don't be selfish; don't live to make a good impression on others.  Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourself.  Don't think only about your own affairs, but be interested in others, too, and what they are doing.

  1. Practice reckless forgiveness.
    1. Ephesians 4:32 - Be gentle with one another, sensitive.  Forgive one another as quickly and thoroughly as God in Christ forgave you.

  1. Commit to go the distance.
    1. Proverbs 17:17 - Friends love through all kinds of weather, and families stick together in all kinds of trouble.
