4 Stages in Following God

According to your faith will it be done to you. (Matthew 9:29)

Everything is possible for the person who has faith. (Mark 9:23)

  1. Dream Stage

  1. God is able to do far more than we would ever dare to ask or even dream of - infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, or hopes. (Ephesians 3:20)

  1. Mountain Stage

  1. But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.  …he is a double-minded man, unstable in all he does.
    1. Let go of SECURITY
    2. Invest TIME, MONEY, REPUTATION, and ENERGY.

  1. Exhaustion stage

  1. I know how great this makes you feel, even though you have to put up with every kind of aggravation, in the meantime.  Pure gold put in the fire comes out of it proved pure;  genuine faith put through this suffering comes out proved genuine.  When Jesus wraps this all up, it's your faith, not your gold that God will have on display as evidence of his victory. (1 Peter 1:6-7)

  1. … let's not allow ourselves to get fatigued doing good.  At the right time we will harvest a good crop if we don't give up, or quit. (Galatians 6:9)

  1. Finish Line

  1. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. (2 Timothy 4:7)

  1. … I want to finish the race I'm running. I want to carry out the mission I received from the Lord Jesus - the mission of testifying to the Good News of God's kindness. (Acts 20:24)

  1. … since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily hinders our progress.  And let us run with endurance the race that God has set before us. (Hebrews 12:1)
